Step 4: Airtable & Automation Instructions

Alright, we’re almost done here!
But before we wrap this up, we want to give you a quick overview of how this automation works and some of the steps you need to complete when you receive a new testimonial.

Automation Overview

TRIGGER: When a new sale is registered in Stripe
ACTION: Send customer data from Stripe to Airtable
Customer data below:
  • Customer name
  • Customer email
  • Total amount purchased
  • Purchase date
ACTION: Send notification of transaction to Slack (optional)
When this happens, go to Airtable “Master View” of your “Clients” table.
Step 1. Go to the “🙌Customer Notes” field and add any relevant information (context)
Step 2. Go to “🙌🏼🕧 Due“ field and add a due date (optional). Use the date field similar to a reminder. Such as when a customer asks you to follow up on a specific date.
  • The “Tracker” field will automatically populate and tell you when to follow up.
  • Tick the “Done” field ✅ checkbox once completed.
Step 3. Add the product/service
Step 4. Send an email to the customer requesting a testimonial.
  • Use the “Testimonials” table and pick one of the templates. Be mindful to choose the template best suited for your type of business.
Step 5. Change the status to “Pending” once you’ve sent an email to the customer.
This Zap will automatically upload any testimonial when it’s received to the Airtable base.
  • If it’s a video file then it will upload to the “🤖🙌Testimonial Video” field.
  • If it’s a text testimonial then it will upload to the “🤖🙌Testimonial (text)” field.
Note: If the customer enters a different email when they submit their testimonial address then what’s in Stripe, it will create a new “blank” entry in Airtable with only the Testimonial.
All you have to do is copy the video/text file to the appropriate field and delete the blank created by the zap.
Step 7. Mark “Testimonial Status” to Complete whenever you receive a new testimonial.
And that’s it!
